As the final event of our new-for-2026 holiday Coalition ride series, the Labor Day ride did not disappoint! Cream City Cycle Club hosted, only a month after the well-planned but very, very wet and windy annual Coalition picnic. An estimated 40-50 riders showed up at New Berlin's Malone Park to enjoy a gorgeous day, and a bucolic route around rural roads in Muskego, Vernon and the surrounding area. A special thank-you goes to Cream City's Tim for a great pre-ride safety briefing.

The parking situation caused mild mayhem combined with camaraderie for longtime friends and a great icebreaker for erstwhile strangers. To help ease road congestion, riders left in several very loose pace groups. The front group stayed together, pulled mostly by Spring City's Kevin and Scott, and reined in by Spring City's Steve P., who excels at keeping the group together.

The rest stop in Big Bend was perfect other than the weird amount of bees (a bug/feature of recent rides!), and the final one-third of the ride gave a good look at what Waukesha does best: hills!
